What Is Body Movement ?

The motion of all or part of the body, especially at a joint or joints know as body movements.
 Types of body movement:-
A) Flexion:- The movement by which the angle of a join is decreased is known as flexion.
B) Extension:– The movement by which the angle of joint is interested is known as extension.
C) Abduction:- The movement away from the central axis is called abduction.
D) Adduction:- The movement towards the central axis is called adduction.
E) Inversion:– The movement turns the sole of the foot medially is called inversion.
F) Eversion:– The movement turns the sole of the foot laterally is called eversion.
G) Medial rotation:- The movement towards the medial side of the body is called medial rotation.
H) Lateral rotation:- The rotation towards the lateral side of the body is called lateral rotation.
I) Circumduction:- The Circumduction is a combination of flexion, extension, adduction, abduction is called Circumduction.
J) Rotation:– The movement is the movement of the body part around its own axis is called rotation. Ok
K) Supination:- The movement of the hand and forearm in which palm is moved facing anterior to posterior is called supination.
L) Pronation:- The movement of the hand and forearm in which palm is moved backwards  posterior to anterior is called Pronation.
M) Protraction:– Protraction is required to perform full range of motion push-ups and to perform movement like a gymnastics planche. Protraction  refer to an anterior  movement, such as of the arm at the shoulders, and the mandible.
N) Retraction:– In retraction, the scapulae move towards the spine and towards each other. Retracting is done by squeezing the shoulder blades together.
