Attenuation of x-ray.
The removal of radiation or beam of x rays when the
passes though any attenuating material by the process of
absorption and scattering is known as attenuation.
This attenuation process occurs by mainly two
interaction of matter with radiation i.e photoelectric
effect and Compton scattering. When the higher energy
radiation interact with lower density material then
Compton effect dominates. Coherent scattering also
occurs in diagnostic radiography.
