What Is Anatomy?
The word anatomy is derived from a Greek word “Anatome” meaning to cut up. It is the study of structures that make up the body and how those structures relate with each other. Initially the anatomy was studied by dissection but the scope of modern anatomy has become very wide because it is now studied by all possible technique which can enlarge the boundaries of the anatomical knowledge.
The name of father of anatomy was Herophilus of chalcedony ( 300 BC ). He was greek physician and was one of the first to dissect the human body.
